I love talking with people about the incalculable value of experiencing acoustic music in its raw state, both voice and instruments, without the aural distraction of sound equipment. One connection is that it may be news to some people that music performance can even legitimately take place without someone “running sound.” I have this strong suspicion that we as a people might be better off if more of our playing and listening experience comes into our bodies via the ears straight from the voices and instruments in the room or hall or glade or field without first passing through some wires and out a set of speakers or headphones. A lot healthier all around! Bring your own experience and insight to this class to take part in the lively discussion! All viewpoints are welcomed.
