Are you mystified by the unspoken rapport that develops in a good informal Irish traditional music session? Seamus Connolly will introduce you to some of the basics: tune types, combinations, etiquette, and some familiar tunes from his vast store of lovely Irish melodies. Learn what makes a tune sound “Irish” and techniques necessary to achieve that sound.

Weekend Overview

Friday

The weekend kicks off with a ‘meet and greet’ gathering on Friday evening. Mingle with other participants and the instructors, ending with a mega jam session.

Saturday

Participants attend classes throughout the day on Saturday. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided Saturday and Sunday. You can dance or play for a community contra dance Saturday evening or choose to jam. There will be music discussion panels throughout the day and evening.

Sunday

Attendees meet for classes again on Sunday morning after breakfast. After lunch, the instructors will present a final concert.
